Would you run for president?

Someone has to.

THIS YEAR’S PRESIDENTIAL election campaign is shaping up to be decidedly lacklustre: politicians testing the waters, no one ruling themselves in or out, every single person with a public presence fielding the obligatory question during a radio interview.

Two more potential candidates joined the fray today as former minister Mary Hanafin confirmed her intention to go for Fianna Fáil’s nomination for the office.

That being said, the waters remain murky and uncertain as the November date nears with few appearing overly keen to join the race – raising the question: Would you run for president?
