Woman (60s) in critical condition after two-car collision in Wicklow

The collision occurred close to the Kildare/Wicklow border on Sunday night.

A WOMAN REMAINS critically injured in hospital following a two-car collision near Blessington, Co Wicklow on Sunday night.

The crash, involving two vehicles, occurred at approximately 11:30pm on Sunday on the N81 at Tinode, near the Kildare/Wicklow border.

Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene. The woman, aged in her 60s, was seriously injured and taken to Tallaght University Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.

The other driver, a man in his 20s, was not injured.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have conducted a technical examination of the scene, and enquiries are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Road users who were travelling on this stretch of the N81 near Blessington between 11:15pm and 11:45pm and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make it available to investigating Gardaí.
